Alberto Giacometti http://www.fondation-giacometti.fr/en/art/16/discover-the-artwork/ inspired this exploration into the properties of matter. His ability to capture movement and mood was all it took to get us thinking and doing. During this unit, we discussed texture and form more than color. We used used flexible foil and rock and observed how they were different from each other. Then you all tried different movements to see how you might like your sculpture to look. We faced some challenges on how to keep the foil together. Your creative problem solving skills demonstrated your growing artistic abilities. I was well impressed!! In the end, everyone had interesting poses and meaningful gestures that explored the concepts of perspective and expression of mood. Check out your artwork in the Gallery!
