Salutations, Grade 2!!
To explore the mathematical concepts of balance and symmetry, we looked to create a hat that used patterning to create colorful and beautiful designs. After identifying what balance and symmetry meant, you found out that, though they are related, they are also completely different. It was surprising to see that something could look, feel and move with balance and be completely asymmetrical at the same time. After planning and executing your mostly symmetrical, patterned designs, you then planned out a photo shoot with your hats to show how asymmetrical designs could appear balanced.
