ACT: A Community Tapestry
Hiya, Grade 5!
In order to contribute to the new collaborative project we were creating, you were presented with three questions: How can we represent our host/home country, how can we share our goals, hopes and dreams, and how can we show what our school is all about???
Your contributions were well-received. As the last class to add into the final design, you responded to and reflected upon the grade levels before you. You took their ideas and made connections to your ideas, imbedding imagery into our tapestry that communicates what it means to be part of our community. Pretty impressive! With a career spanning 25 years, I have worked alongside children from infancy to 9th grade in a generalist classroom setting. To my delight and surprise, an opportunity arose for me to become an art teacher in 2015. My first year was a learning experience and I expect that will be the case with all the years to follow.
