Antoni Gaudi inspires us to create and imagine what we can make for our community spaces!
Dear Grade 1,
We recently inquired into Antoni Gaudi as an architect and artist. You learned how he dedicated himself to creating for his community. He believed shared spaces could be enjoyed by everyone. His artwork continues to stand the test of time and to give joy to others.
During you Visual Arts lessons, you have learned about how to use spaces between paper tiles. You have also discovered how colors and shapes help to define images. It was challenging and rewarding to design and create paper mosaics.
You can find yours in the Gallery.
Now we are moving on to create a large tile mosaic mural for our community to enjoy.

With a career spanning 25 years, I have worked alongside children from infancy to 9th grade in a generalist classroom setting. To my delight and surprise, an opportunity arose for me to become an art teacher in 2015. My first year was a learning experience and I expect that will be the case with all the years to follow.
