A Community Tapestry
Oh my, I was so impressed with your contributions to and enthusiasm surrounding the tapestry you helped to create with our school community. Each one of you had a chance to share your ideas about what you thought could represent our community and also an opportunity to contribute to the actual weaving. You learned well in class and practised techniques for recognising the patterns that exist in weaving.
After you each had time on the loom, many of you chose to come back at breaks and lunches to contribute more. Your efforts helped us complete the collaboration and you can be proud of your contributions! Check out 'A community Tapestry' in the gallery.
With a career spanning 25 years, I have worked alongside children from infancy to 9th grade in a generalist classroom setting. To my delight and surprise, an opportunity arose for me to become an art teacher in 2015. My first year was a learning experience and I expect that will be the case with all the years to follow.
